Fear

The cold air pierces my newborn face

It seems to me that I might be a little out of place,

In this big and massive world

I find that the vast ocean of life is filled with complex simplicity,

My protectors hold me close

And though I don’t know their names

I know that they are full of compassion and love,

I am relatively new to this beautiful world

But I already feel the intense outpouring of affection,

The loud noises and sudden motions frighten me

But the arms of my…parents hold me tight,

I then realize that I have nothing to fear

and slip into a peaceful sleep clouded with comfort
