Confessions through Photography: Burial

I was told by my father that I had “an eye for the abandoned”. I admit that I’m fascinated by the broken, run-down, empty places (people) of this world. Is it because I was once there? These hallways of deterioration feel so familiar. I can’t help but traverse them searching for any sign of struggle. I’m no savior but you can find me buried with the abandoned. Their ashes, my home.

Enjoy my recent journey through a local burial ground full of beauty, wonder, and awe. I hope I was able to capture the essence of what we found. (Click on an individual picture and it will present it in a slideshow format).

Cheers!

  3. These are great Matty. I grew up with my grandparents living at a parsonage next to a church and a HUGE cemetery. I loved it. When I was really little I called it “alphabet park” because it was where the letters lived. 🙂

These are really beautiful photos. You’ve got an eye!

Alphabet park is unique! It’s incredible to think about the different lives, memories, and things that these people did! It’s fascinating!
