Incredibly exciting news came down the pipe earlier this week when I announced that my search for a second author had ended! For a few months, I was looking for someone to come on board and add another unique perspective to the Confessions brand. I was almost ready to give up when an idea hit me! What about asking one of my good friends Devin to come on board?!
Devin and I worked very closely on my “Confessions through Photograph” visual story. These pictures set a high precedence for quality and story telling and I’m incredibly proud of what we were able to accomplish. Check them out here and here.
Adding into his resume of his being a professional photographer was our very close friendship. I’ve known Devin for about two years now and recently graduated with him from college. He has an incredible heart, an outstanding eye, and a passion for those dealing with any kinds of various mental illnesses.
All of this combined lead me to pursue his authorship and ownership of our “Through photography” category. As you can already tell he graciously accepted my offer. You’ll begin seeing his work on the blog within the week! We’re both extremely excited for the plans he has for the category and I can’t wait for you all to see them!
I felt that the best way to introduce you all to him was by way of interview. Let’s have some fun!

Hi, Devin!
Hey, Matty!
What’s your favorite color?
My favorite color is GREEN!
When did your passion for photography begin? What brought it on?
My passion for photography actually came from my passion for videography.
As a sophomore in high school, I became very interested in editing videos for
Facebook and YouTube. I started with iMovie and a Handy Cam. I then grew
into bigger and better equipment, watched HOURS of YouTube tutorials, had
excellent friends and trainers that taught me and viola, you’re a professional
photographer. Although I believe a little bit of natural eye for the shot is
included, so thanks, God!
What was the hardest part of growing up?
I would say the hardest part for me currently is figuring out the financial end of
life. Also, working during the summer. KIDS. HOLD ON TO YOUR SUMMER.
DON’T WASTE IT. TRUST ME.
How many hours do you think you play Pokemon Go! a day?
Oh goodness. I plead the 5th. Jk. I would say that right now I have probably
played Pokemon Go for 3 hours a day since it came out…#dontjudge
What trainer level are you and what’s your highest rated Pokemon?
CURRENTLY: I am level 20, and my highest rated Pokemon is a CP 1587
Vaporeon. Hopefully, this will be different in a few days.
Would you rather live in the world or Harry Potter or live with unending wealth?
Well, considering I was brought up with a mother that said Harry Potter was
witchcraft and I was forbidden to watch or read the series, I’ll have to go with
unending wealth…
What’s your most embarrassing moment?
This question is literally too expansive…If I had to narrow it down, it would
have to be when I taught an entire Sunday School class with my fly open. -_-
Really wish someone had mentioned it. In private.
What’s your biggest regret?
My biggest regret is not putting myself out there relationally enough. I get
friend zoned. Quick. Real quick.
Your greatest accomplishment?
My greatest accomplishment would have to be graduating from college with a
4.0.
Can you give us a brief hint of some of the plans you have for our photography section?
I really plan on trying out some more conceptual photography for this blog.
Meaning that it’s not just a picture of a field or a sunset, but rather a picture
that tells a story. I want the pictures to be deep and intrinsic. I want you to
think!
What’s one thing not many people know about you?
I have such an irrational fear of bees that I tell people I’m allergic to
them…that’s the only way my reaction to a bee buzzing makes any sense…
Would you rather fight 100 crab-sized horses or 10 horse sized crabs?
I would say probably 100 crab-sized horses because I really feel like I could
tame those horses and sell them – although a horse sized crab would be
delicious…
Thank you so much, Devin, for answering and we both hope you enjoyed the interview! Make sure you welcome Devin to the WordPress family and be looking out for his soon coming projects. You can find more of his story in our “Meet the Authors” tab underneath “About Confessions.”
You are loved!
