Let Me In (A Poem)

It’s 3 arms deep in the morning and I can’t sleep.

Consumed by love and a false sense of reality creep-ing.

This doesn’t seem right. I thought time was supposed to heal.

Apparently, time was just a catalyst for bitterness to become real.

I see where your heart is. I want to believe that it is well.

I’ve been poking, prying, and praying my way around your shell.

I know it’s hard to believe, but I want to be of assistance.

That mask you wear is only a form of stubborn resistance.

Let me in.

The journey we take is day by day. I love you the same

As yesterday falls away, today offers healing from the pain.

It’s ok to not be ok. You don’t have to fake.

We’re all a little messed up here. I know what’s at stake.

I just want you to know you’re cared for.

Fly away and be free, but don’t forget what you’re here for.

I can’t make you breathe a certain way,

I only want you to know that I’m here to stay.

Through the walls and the thick barricades,

I will be here, waiting, wishing that you won’t be afraid.

Let me in.

    1. A little bit. I’m sure there will be more like this as my heart is clearly broken. I hate times like these, but they often provide me a lot of source material.
